The Role - Triage, stabilize, and manage emergency presentations across a diverse caseload - Perform comprehensive exams, diagnostics, and emergency procedures using on-site imaging and laboratory resources - Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and uphold controlled substance protocols - Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about diagnoses, options, and follow-up care - Maintain accurate, timely medical records and support efficient hospital flow - Collaborate in daily rounds, reinforce clinical protocols, and partner with technicians and support staff - Contribute to quality improvement, staff training, and a positive team culture - Participate in a shared schedule consistent with a 24/7 emergency service
Requirements - DVM or VMD from an accredited institution - Current Kentucky veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start) - DEA registration (or eligibility) - One or more years of clinical experience preferred; internship-trained candidates encouraged to apply - Proficiency in diagnostic reasoning, emergency procedures, and surgery - Strong communication, teamwork, and client-service skills - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties requiring standing and movement - Eligibility to work in the United States
