The Role
Full-time, 100 percent hospital-based, working manager position responsible for medical leadership across assigned hospital(s).
- Lead, mentor, and develop associate veterinarians to deliver consistent, high-quality care
- Provide direct patient care part of the week, with a focus on preventive medicine, dentistry, and routine soft-tissue surgery
- Validate clinical standards through medical record reviews, case discussions, audits, and patient-safety event follow-up
- Serve as the responsible veterinarian for required medical and pharmacy permits as needed; ensure compliant controlled-substance management and radiation safety
- Build an inclusive, collaborative culture in partnership with practice management; support doctor engagement and retention
- Oversee structured onboarding and hands-on coaching for new veterinarians to build surgical, dental, and clinical skills
- Partner with leadership to meet hospital performance goals while upholding medical quality and an excellent client experience
- Participate in recruiting; host student externs and candidates for hospital experiences
- Manage medical equipment needs and inventory in partnership with regional leadership
- Champion access to care and effective client communication

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited program
- License to practice veterinary medicine in California (or ability to obtain)
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Demonstrated proficiency in general practice, including dentistry and routine soft-tissue surgery
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop veterinarians
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Eligibility to work in the United States
