Veterinary Medical Director

The Role
- Full-time Chief of Staff position combining leadership and clinical practice.
- Approximately 20-30 percent leadership and 70-80 percent clinical responsibilities, adjusted as needed for hospital operations.
- Lead medical quality, client service, and team productivity; partner with practice leadership on strategy, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Mentor and develop associate veterinarians and paraprofessionals; foster a positive, accountable culture.
- Perform comprehensive exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning; communicate clearly with clients and team members.
- Provide preventive care, dentistry, routine soft-tissue surgery, and microchipping.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant hospital environment; uphold accurate medical records and adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Engage in problem-solving to improve workflows and patient outcomes.

Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Active Oregon veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Proficiency in general practice, dentistry, and routine soft-tissue surgery
