The Role
- Full-time, 100 percent hospital-based, working manager position leading medical quality and clinical standards across assigned local hospitals
- Provide direct patient care part of each week while coaching and developing associate veterinarians
- Partner with practice management to foster an inclusive, collaborative culture and deliver an excellent client experience
- Validate clinical quality through medical record reviews, case audits, and patient safety initiatives
- Champion preventive care and consistent standards across the team
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including controlled substance management and applicable safety protocols
- Serve as Responsible Veterinarian for permits and controlled substance oversight as required
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor doctors; support student and externship experiences
- Manage medical equipment needs and maintenance planning
- Address escalated medical concerns and support timely, professional client resolutions

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Active North Carolina veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Proficiency in routine soft tissue surgery and dentistry
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable with basic practice software and electronic medical records
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation for travel between assigned local sites
